Vanessa Evans

Hi my name is Vanessa. I am from Boston Massachusetts.

I have been on dialysis for the past 17 years. A long time! I consider myself an expert. The last 11 years I have been doing home hemodialysis with the Nxstage machine. I truly can say that it has changed my life. Since being a home patient, Not only was able to have my two wonderful boys via a surrogate but I was also able to start a language business for children and consult for patient advocacy issues.

“Being a patient has never been easy, but I choose to be optimistic and live life to its fullest no matter what obstacles are in the way.”

I would be happy to speak with other patients and share my story. I want to inspire others to live life to the full list. Dialysis does not have to be a death sentence. True, there needs to be more planning and more challenges to overcome , but anything is possible! I look forward to hearing from you.”The last thing anyone expects in life is to receive a transplant. I joined ReMend to help those in ESRD have a better understanding of what to expect during the dialysis and transplant processes from a patient’s point of view.

Language spoken is English and Spanish.
